herding cats
jinnie fay, jetmir's second
My first EDH deck. I knew I wanted a cat deck, but I was too new at the format to spend on something like Rin and Seri or Arahbo or any of the more popular cat commanders. Jinnie Fay was available at a local store, and it was cheap, so I decided to build around her. Initially I just went with "any cat I owned that fits", but as I drafted more and people gifted me cards for the deck, it shaped up to be what it is now. As someone who lives in Bracket 2, it's still one of my favourite decks, now.

court of thorns and shadows
lathril, blade of the elves
My absolute favourite deck from when I was younger was a Lorwyn elves deck. When I pulled Lathril in a Foundations draft, I decided to try to recreate it as closely as possible. Every Lorwyn card in this deck was from my old deck, and some of the non-Lorwyn ones, too, like Eladamri, Lord of Leaves. (Was Eladamri standard legal the same time as Lorwyn? Absolutely not, because my play group only played "whatever cards we owned".) Anyway, the title is because I also built this deck during a romantasy craze and I referred to this deck as my "romantasy elfball" deck.

twilight dominion
alela, cunning conqueror
I always wanted a Lorwyn faeries deck back when I was younger, but I mainly relied on whatever cards my brothers gave me, and both of them were blue players... which was why I had an elves deck and a goblins deck instead (I will turn my goblin deck into an EDH deck too one day!) Anyway, my eldest brother gave me the Fae Dominion precon when I got back into Magic, then demolished me with his Urza's Iron Alliance deck. So... I dug up his old Lorwyn cards and looked at my Eldraine bulk and turned my precon into this. It's mostly the same, I think. Just a bit more Lorwyn-Shadowmoor than it used to be.

into the drowning deep
svyelun of sea and sky
Yes, I only build tribal. Anyway, I've been toying with the idea of a simic merfolk tribal (I know, how original) for awhile, but then my pod talked about playing a Star game with monocoloured decks. I immediately called dibs on blue because I thought of Svyelun. Again, I used a lot of my brother's old Lorwyn cards, and since he's a blue player, I also dipped into his merfolk stash a bit. There are cards in this deck that are specifically in the deck because of the pod I intended the deck for. I've upgraded it slightly with cards from Lorwyn Eclipsed, and plan to add Harmonized Trio from Secrets of Strixhaven, but we STILL have not played the game I built this deck for.

silvery barbs
killian, decisive mentor
What's this? A non-tribal deck? I guess it can happen only because of Strixhaven, which somehow took over Lorwyn-Shadowmoor as my favourite plane. This is really just a slightly upgraded (or downgraded, depending on your POV) Silverquill Influence deck, where I add Auras/Enchantments I like better (possibly an upgrade), and also replaced creatures with some of my favourite Silverquill characters, like Abigale, Eloquent First-Year, Fain, the Broker and Felisa, Fang of Silverquill (possibly a downgrade, since these don't necessary help what Killian wants to do.) I plan to eventually make/edit a deck for all the Strixhaven colleges, and name them after their signature spells from A Curriculum of Chaos.

i did the math (you died)
zimone and dina
My friend Chi made this deck for me, because I wanted a deck that can include every single Zimone card that exists. And according to Mythic Tools it's Bracket 3? Its vibes feel more B2 to me, because Zimone and Dina both want very different things, making it less focused than a pure Zimone deck or Dina deck. I do enjoy this deck a lot from pure vibes, and I do plan to change it up with cards from the Secrets of Strixhaven set at some point.

future decks
* Wort, Boggart Auntie - my old goblin deck needs to be repurposed
* Cadira, Caller of the Small - I have a BLB bunnies standard deck I love, that isn't at all meta or competitive, and I want to remake it in EDH
* Dina, Soul Steeper or Dina, Essence Brewer - I can't decide on which Dina should lead my "Wither and Bloom" deck
